Allianz integrates AI into the insurance-claim process

Allianz Partners USA has redesigned its Universal Claims Portal and is integrating AI to speed the claims process.

For the past 10 years, Allianz has increasingly used bots to streamline the claims process, but they are being sunset for the AI-powered technology.

However, Allianz noted that claims can only be denied by humans.

"The adoption of this new technology will continue to increase the velocity of the claims adjudication process and will greatly enhance customers' experience with us," said Maggie Butler, director of customer experience at Allianz Partners USA.

The portal also has an improved user interface and new educational content, Allianz said.

A live chat has been added to the claim-filing pages of the portal. Allianz also upgraded the portal's document-upload functionality, the claim status bar and communication capabilities (customers can get their claim status on the claims portal or via email or SMS message).
