Air Transat content could be removed from the Sabre GDS on Sept. 17, when the company's current Sabre agreement expires.
In a letter to agencies earlier this month, Benjamin Pron, vice president of commercial for the Montreal-based leisure carrier, said he hoped an agreement could be reached.
"Air Transat is open to constructive solution-oriented discussions and is engaged in amicable talks with Sabre in the interest of Sabre users," Pron wrote. "Our guiding principle is to provide you with the broadest possible choice of content and technology options, as we believe your freedom to choose between competing channels is fundamental to driving innovation and a better choice for our joint customers."
Pron wrote that should Air Transat exit Sabre, travel advisors will still be able to book the airline on Travelport and Amadeus, via direct connections and through the Transat Agent Direct portal.
Bookings made via Sabre prior to Sept. 17 would remain valid for travel, but any changes to such bookings after that date would have to be made by calling the Air Transat GDS helpdesk.
